Soundbath 101

Join Hayley B for the first of a regularly scheduled 60-min sound healing & meditation offering.

————————————————

Sound healing is a powerful, deeply restorative practice utilizing the vibration of intentional, resonant sounds to enhance physical and emotional well-being.

In Sound Healing 101, you will learn to ground yourself, deepen your breath, gently stretch in all three planes, and then lie back to receive healing, restorative sound therapy.

This is a wonderfully accessible and enjoyable form of healing that is merely in its infancy, as our Western culture is just beginning to recognize various forms of sound and vibrational therapies as a safe and impactful addition to traditional health practices.

Includes:

- A brief explanation of sound healing

- Initial grounding, deep breathing, and gentle stretching to relax the body

- Assistance settling into a comfortable, supported position

- Guided meditation

- 30-minute crystal bowl and gong sound healing

- Re-emergence and integration

————————————————

Also referred to as ‘sound medicine’, ’sound meditation’, ’sound journeying’, and ’sound bathing’, sound healing is founded upon ancient, multicultural practices as well as modern research, demonstrating how matter vibrates at varying frequencies that can be rapidly altered through sound waves.

Sound healing works by affecting the autonomic nervous system, activating a healthy balance of parasympathetic engagement, and reducing sympathetic overdrive. This nervous system balance slows your breathing, heart rate, and brain waves, which can lead to a very deep state of relaxation and cellular healing.

“You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. And no organ system in the body’s not affected by sound and music and vibration.”

Mitchell Gaynor, M.D.

Preconception Conversation

Preconception conversation is a workshop style meet up for those who are on the journey to conception. Preconception is an important time that often gets overlooked. There are ways to prepare physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and it’s never too early to be intentional about a future pregnancy. While this is a cocreative space that will move with the participants, the overall intention is to bring connection and support to an often deeply private and personal journey. The evening will include meditation, reflection, sharing and some movement. Inspired by her own preconception journey and her work as a doula, Hannah is excited to connect with those wanting some local community who are also in this chapter of the motherhood continuum.

This workshop is for women, birthing parents, or those who will be in a motherhood role either through pregnancy, fostering or adopting. We understand the journey to parenthood/motherhood looks different for everyone, so if you feel drawn to this offering, please bring your story.
This workshop is for anyone open to conceiving/parenting in the future, whether that be a first pregnancy, or adding other children to the family. If you have further question please reach out to Hannah at hannahjayave@gmail.com

Lunar Restoration

Treat yourself to the healing powers of cacao, sound, and restorative yoga under the full moon with Liberty Glaser and Emily Rogers.

***Pre Registration would be greatly appreciated as we will have to purchase the cacao prior to the event.

The full moon can be looked at as a representation of something at its full brightness. Something that has gone through many phases in which to be that way. Each phase is just as beautiful and meaningful as the one before it. After the moon finds its fullest expression, it will slowly move its way back to the new moon. The moon is a great visualization of the natural way of all living things; expansion and contraction. In order to be expanded or at our full brightness, we must contract. Contract simply means a place of rest. The demand from society and the expectations we put on ourselves to go, go, go make it difficult for the less than seven hours of sleep the average American gets each night to be sufficient rest to restore our bodies. Our bodies will often find the energy in other places, like placing our nervous system in a constant state of hyper-arousal/sympathetic nervous system which is unhealthy for the mind and body. We must find the moments in our lives to rest, restore, relax, resource, into the parasympathetic nervous system so it can refuel and we can move back towards expansion in a healthy and natural way. Rarely do we afford the acts of relaxation, rest, comfort. They become special treats we give ourselves on our birthdays, rather than something we do regularly just because we know we need in order to operate at our best. So it takes steps of radical self-love to give ourselves these moments.

Let’s explore what self-love and rest can feel like in community. Allow yourself to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and restore yourself to your full brightness.

This offering will begin with ceremonial cacao. The beans are purchased from Atucún Chocolatería, located in Comayagua, Honduras. Atucún works directly with various cacao producers located throughout Honduras, and the cacao trees are grown sustainably in polyculture. The beans are then roasted and refined into cacao by Ryan DeLuca in Grand Rapids, MI. Cacao is pure chocolate and medicinal for our whole selves, mind, body, and spirit. It is a natural heart opener, and we will use it intentionally in our meditation practice to deepen the experience. Cacao is also a superfood that increases blood flow throughout our body, lowers blood pressure, and helps tissue cells receive nutrients to heal.

After receiving the Cacao, Emily will guide you into sweet and relaxing restorative postures while Liberty provides healing sounds and vibrations via crystal bowls, chimes and various instruments to inspire relaxation and peace. Restorative yoga poses are completely supported by the floor and made comfortable by the use of blankets and bolsters. This yoga is sweet and accessible for all activity levels.

Please be there at least 15 minutes early and consider bringing your own mug as we are trying to reduce our waste! Bring all the items that will bring you comfort. A yoga mat, blanket, crystals, and eye pillows are all great options!

Auricular Acupuncture & Yoga Nidra

Treat yourself to a deep relaxing and healing evening. Join Rhonda R. and Joyce B. for a one-hour workshop. Rhonda will guide you through a yoga nidra while Joyce pins your ears. You'll be sure to leave feeling penned out.

Auricular Acupuncture

Chinese medicine believes that the human body has an extensive and complex energy system that flows through it. When this system is in balance and healthy, it is healthy, but interruptions and blockages in it cause stagnation and disease. Acupuncture is a technique that allows free-flowing energy and restores balance to the body.

Acupuncture for the ears can help alleviate:

Allergies - anxiety - arthritis - chronic pain - depression - detox of impurities - fibromyalgia - headaches - insomnia - smoking cessation - cravings - stress

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique, done comfortably, usually lying down. Using a variety of breath, body, and awareness practices, you are guided into deep levels of relaxation, peace, and stillness.

In this state, between wakefulness and sleep, the nervous system can come into balance and long-held habits, limiting beliefs, and harmful patterns can be released spontaneously and effortlessly, bringing healing to the
body, mind, and spirit.

In this place of relaxation, we disconnect from THINKING and reconnect with BEING, a non-doing state where profound transformation can take place without effort. Yoga Nidra is deeply replenishing to the body. In fact, it is said that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is as restorative as 3 hours of sleep!

What Yoga Nidra can help with:

– Stress - Anxiety – Overwhelm – Depression – Trauma (both recent and past) – PTSD – Insomnia – Addictions – Brain Injuries – Unhelpful Habits – Relationship Struggles – Grief – Chronic Pain – Chronic Illness – Other Issues that Bring Discomfort or Suffering

Song, Sound & Breath Journey Meditation

Join Moses and Carey for sound, song, breath, and freedom. I invite you to experience a journey of letting go, flowing with the moment, and attuning to the sacred energy that surrounds and flows through us.

We will begin by welcoming ourselves and everyone into the sacred space... We get comfortable and gently tune into our instruments—our voices and heartbeats—through sacred sounds and humming. This practice will open the space for collective harmony, allowing each to express or simply listen. Whether you choose to participate or hold space in silence, you are welcome to honor your comfort level.

Next, we will invite everyone to find a sacred spot to lie down and receive the healing vibrations of live music. Crystal Bowls, the Gong, Harmonium, Chimes, Drum, Didjeridoo, and my voice will weave together, creating a rich soundscape for deep rest and reflection. Your breath, too, is part of this musical journey. Embark through a soothing breath meditation, allowing you to sink even further into the present moment and the sacred space we’re co-creating.

As the time comes to a close, there will be an opportunity for anyone who feels called to share their experience or reflections. This sharing circle will be followed by an offering of a special tea blend, featuring sweet fern foraged during the last full moon of the summer, helping us ground and close the evening in community.

This gathering is offered on a sliding scale of $15-$33, ensuring that anyone who feels called to join can participate, regardless of financial means. Let this be a space of listening, releasing, and remembering.

Also, We are deeply honored to hold this gathering at MoeSong, a sacred space that has been a source of healing and connection for the community for many years. This space is imbued with the energy of countless blessings, making it the perfect setting for an evening of sound, breath, and transformation. We are truly blessed to be sharing in this special place, and the energy here is sure to make the evening even more magical.
